Having originally been built in the 1820s as a church, our main function room is the perfect setting for a romantic ceremony. With its stone walls, vaulted ceiling and original exposed beams it provides a wonderful backdrop for you and your guests. What could be better than walking down the aisle to meet your sweetheart in the knowledge that couples have tread this path for the past 200 years.

Between your ceremony and reception you and your guests can enjoy a drink in our stylish lounge bar with panoramic views over Strangford Lough towards Whiterock and the Mourne Mountains or on our raised terrace area. Being a fully licensed venue we can provide you with a wide range of drinks including our own Pale Ale from a micro- brewery a few miles from our door and our Orange Tree House Gin, specially blended for us at a small batch distillery.

At this point we can provide a wide range of nibbles including delicious canapes, freshly baked scones with cream and jam, mini homemade burgers etc.

Your Banqueting Room

Our team will work behind the scenes to create the perfect setting for your wedding banquet for up to 130 guests. The room suits a variety of layouts which we can tailor to specifically meet your needs and, with its stone walls and dramatic beams, requires the minimum of decoration to provide a stunning backdrop for your meal.

Orange Tree House is renowned for its delicious food. With a talented team of in-house chefs, some of whom have trained in Michelin starred venues across Europe and have catered for thousands of guests including Royalty and Film Stars, you and your guests will be in for a culinary delight.

We will invite you along to a tasting session some months before your wedding day when you can sample some of the dishes on offer and select your favourites for your guests to enjoy.

Having left all of the formalities behind you can let your hair down, kick off those heels and dance the night away under the twinkling lights. When you get a little peckish we will bring you evening nibbles to take you through until it is time to say your goodbyes at the end of a wedding day to remember.

If you wish to invite extra guests for the evening we can comfortably accommodate up to a total of 160 people.

Photographs

Once you have had a chance to chat with your guests there are many areas within and around Orange Tree House for superb photographs so you don’t need to leave the venue for long and miss out on the party.

Our venue sits nestled in Greyabbey Bay, which is the most wonderful setting for wedding photographs. The light and tide are constantly changing so your photographer will be spoilt for choice – just remember to bring your glamorous wellies or go barefoot across the sands.

And wow - the sunsets! Located on the west coast of the Ards Peninsula we are frequently amazed by the spectacular sunsets over the lough so, before the light fades, why not pop out with your photographer and capture those golden moments on your wedding day – a romantic backdrop like no other!

Your overnight accommodation

There are over 100 bed spaces located within a 5 minute radius of the venue, many of which are within walking distance in the heart of the village. Within the village there are also great cafes and restaurants to cater for all your meals and a wonderful, eclectic mix of shops to browse around in the village, so there's plenty to keep your guests amused for a day or two.

There is accommodation to suit everyone, ranging from luxurious self-catering cottages to country house B&Bs and local hotels.

  • Exclusive use of the venue on the day for you and your guests

  • Wedding manager/master of ceremonies

  • Complimentary tea, coffee, cloudy lemonade and shortbread for your drinks reception

Sunday – Thursday bar closes 11.30pm , Friday - Saturday bar closes 12.30am.
